From a Dream to Reality: The Annie Ks Boutique Story

Welcome to the Annie Ks Boutique blog - Behind the Hanger! My name is Lori Palmer, and I am Anniston’s mom—which is where the inspiration for our boutique’s name, Annie Ks, truly began. I am thrilled to launch our official blog and share the story behind our journey, our growth, and where we are headed next.

Anniston has always carried an entrepreneurial spirit and dreamed of owning her own business, while my lifelong passion has always centered around fashion and style. Having previously worked in boutique retail, Anniston brought valuable hands-on experience and e-commerce knowledge to the table. While the technical side of online retail was entirely new to me, my natural drive for perfection quickly took over.

In the beginning, whenever Anniston had a question about refining our platform, I would jump right in—spending countless hours researching, testing, and fine-tuning every element of our website. Over time, managing and perfecting our online presence became my primary focus. Looking back at where we began versus where our platform stands today fills me with overwhelming pride, gratitude, and thankfulness.

Phase 1: Launching Online & Taking Annie Ks on the Road

Our story officially opened its first chapter on June 4, 2025, when we launched our online boutique right from our home’s guest bedroom.

Shortly after going live, we set out to connect directly with our community through pop-up shops and regional festivals. We made our official pop-up debut right here at home during the Ole Brook Festival in Brookhaven, followed by the Summit Fall Festival, the Natchez Merry Market, and the Tomato Festival in Crystal Springs. Meeting our customers in person, helping them discover pieces they loved, and experiencing their enthusiasm firsthand provided the momentum we needed to keep scaling.

Phase 2: Balancing Growth and Gratitude

As our online customer base expanded, Anniston seamlessly managed day-to-day website operations and inventory fulfillment on her own. At the time, I was balancing our growing business with a 28-year career in healthcare, serving in various operational and patient-centered roles. My evenings and weekends were spent analyzing site metrics, updating collections, and strategizing our next steps alongside Anniston.

Phase 3: A Physical Storefront & A New Chapter

On August 8, 2026, our vision reached a landmark milestone: we officially opened our brick-and-mortar storefront at 109 Whitebrook Drive in Brookhaven. Opening the doors to our very own space was a deeply humbling moment for our entire family.

Now, we are stepping into our most exciting chapter yet. In just a few short weeks, I am officially transitioning from my career in healthcare to join Annie Ks Boutique full-time alongside Anniston. To say I am eager for this next step is an understatement.

Annie Ks Boutique has been an extraordinary blessing in our lives, and we are deeply faithful and expectant for where the Lord leads us next.
